Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) is an intensive practical course with  hands-on activities that allow participants to explore their behavior and learn, apply and experience life saving behaviours through realistic simulations in a high-risk environment. The aim is to improve personal security and self-awareness for NGO workers. Our well-tested learning process builds on 3 phase methodology of (1) learning theory, (2) putting classroom learning into a practice, and (3) testing your newly gained skills in realistic simulations. 

Improve your ability to understand, and ultimately prevent, risks while working abroad. Work and train at your own pace using our e-learning course. Our e-learning course cover subjects such as personal safety, security and logistics and can be used in conjunction with personal security training or the HEAT.

Salanga organizes discussions and learning sessions,providing a platform for experts in safety and security to share their knowledge. Salanga joins hundreds of organizations every year on World Aid Worker’s day to raise awareness about the importance of safety and security in the workplace.

We advocate that it is the responsibility of organizations to provide training for their staff and ensure they have up-to-date safety and security organizational standards and rules. As individuals, we know it is in our own interest to be familiar with basic safety rules and we promote this behavioural model among our colleagues and partner organizations.
