External, contract position, suitable for a graduate or early-stage tech-savvy professional with at least 2+ years of hands-on experience in designing and delivering online learning and software onboarding experience to adults.

About Kinaki

Kinaki (www.kinaki.ca) is a well-established, user-centred Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) tool for project design, collecting and analyzing data; reporting on and aggregating results against the Performance Management Framework (PMF). Kinaki flows seamlessly from the Logic Model through to the PMF and Data Collection to Reports Kinaki removes technological obstacles to make project design, data collection and analysis easier, engaging and more efficient. Less time is spent calculating indicators allowing more time for analyzing results and using data as evidence to influence programming. Kinaki simplifies the MEAL processes and enables project staff to draw evidence-based conclusions.

Job description:

Salanga is seeking a highly-motivated individual or group of individuals working together with experience and expertise in design, creation and delivery of asynchronous and synchronous online learning sessions and with expertise and interest in software onboarding. Over the next 2-6 months, Salanga aims to significantly step-up the ability of Kinaki users to learn how to use the tool and to adopt good MEAL practices that are promoted by the MEAL process in Kinaki. Kinaki is currently used by many non-profit organizations around the world and their onboarding to the app is heavily on live training sessions. Our goal is to improve user’s experience to stimulate and support on-demand, needs-based self-learning by various groups of Kinaki Users.

You will closely collaborate with our existing team of Kinaki and MEAL Experts to choose the best mode of delivery, to utilize existing learning content and to create missing content as well as to design the training and onboarding sessions.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Learn about Kinaki and master its usage;
  • Explore existing user onboarding content, our latest strategy and resources available.
  • Collaborate on the revision of the existing content and the design of missing content (e.g. training sessions, in-app guidance etc.);
  • Coordinate Salanga team members to ensure appropriate content is available for the timely creation of training sessions based on an agreed schedule;
  • Use and adapt content to create training sessions, based on agreed design and suitability for the chosen mode of delivery for each area of user’s onboarding/learning.
  • This includes the creation of micro-learning sessions, user guides, handouts, video and voice recordings etc.
  • Collect feedback on training sessions from the Salanga team and Kinaki users and adapt training sessions based on the received feedback;
  • Collaborate with other Salanga and Kinaki team members

Job requirements:

  • Proven Experience – ideally, you have proven experience with software onboarding and you have designed and delivered engaging training sessions for adults through online learning, ideally in low-resource settings.
  • Adult Learning Process – you have a good understanding of the adult learning process in a multi-cultural context, knowing that each individual has her/his own needs and pace in learning to achieve the best results and you know how to adapt so they will learn at their best.
  • Interest in Monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) – You are keen to be involved in better, innovative, more inclusive, transparent and reliable ways of doing monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning.
  • Clear written and spoken instructions – you can provide clear, easy-to-understand instructions in English (and ideally also in French) verbal and in writing.
  • Responsibility and Independence – You can work independently and within our global and remote team. You are self-motivated, with the ability to assume responsibility and work under your initiative, coping with a demanding workload and prioritizing effectively. You have the flexibility to adapt to new situations that arise when working in a small, dynamic team.
  • Technical Skills – you have good experience in using various graphic design tools; ability to produce website-ready videos and GIF animations, ability to do a screen-recording, etc.).
  • Graphic Design – you have a good sense of graphic design and foundations of creating visually appealing, but clear documents, presentations etc.
  • Able to legally work in Canada or the EU during the entire duration of the contract.
  • Availability – the ideal candidate should be available immediately (February 2021) and be available for at least the next 3 months (with the possibility of a long-term collaboration) for at least 25 hours weekly. The concrete tasks and training sessions to be delivered will be subject to mutual agreement, availability and interest from both sides. The candidate must have access to an internet connection allowing for uninterrupted video calls of good quality.
